Image of the exhibition at Convent de Sant Agustí in Barcelona
‘Paintraits’ is born after the intense aesthetic experience of a trip to Florence to experience the excitement of the portrait from another point of view.
This exhibition is an assay, a procedure to present portraits in a manner totally different from the photographic view, meaning, from the captured instant, to return to the origins of it: a painting of a pose. The approach of the portraits in this exhibition was to make a trip in reverse: from painting to photo, photo to painting and drawing on the quality of the art.
These portraits are the result of the investigation of the light, expressions, poses of the classical paintings that Marc shapes by manipulating the photographs to achieve the effect of those.
